The Medina of Agadir
The Medina of Agadir is situated several kilometers north of Agadir on the road to Inezgane, to be exact. It was built by Coco Polizzi, an Italian, Moroccan-born architect. After the 1960 earthquake, he decided to bring the destroyed Medina to life. He worked on his project with hundreds of Moroccan craftsmen, using traditional techniques and materials used in the rest of Moroccan Medinas: earth, slate, wood and stone, put together in a harmonic, Berber style. There are also restaurants and shops of various crafts.
