The mausoleum of Moulay Ismail
The mausoleum of Moulay Ismail is a grave located in the imperial city of Meknes. Moulay Ismail is a sultan from the Alaouitte dynasty, who ruled the country between 1645 and 1727 and made Meknes, instead of Marrakesh, the capital of Morocco. The mausoleum is close to one of Morocco’s gates, Bab Mansour. It’s a beautiful place consisting of curved plaster, sculptured wood, exquisite arches and columns. There are two ancient solar clocks Louis XIV sent to the king Ismail.
