Cape Spartel is a headland in Tangier city at the entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar. Below the cape, which is 300 m above sea level, are the Caves of Hercules. These are also one of the most popular tourist attractions, with two openings; one to sea and the other to land. The one to sea is in Africa continent shape when looked at from the sea.
